I've recently been challenged by this verse:
Proverbs 4:23 (New International Version)
"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."
This came after a soul Surviour talk. God also gave me a picture of a haert with loads of speares being thrown at it. It was totally unprotected!
This got me thinking. What do we do with our hearts? We can so easily give our hearts away - money, Boys, music etc Do we leave enough space for God? He wants all of heart! it belongs to him! If we have fully given our lives to him everything belongs to him including our hearts.
Another thing caught my attention. What do we put in our hearts? If we look at a well spring we could put so many bad things in it like dirty water, rubbish, waste and then it wouldn't be much of a wellspring would it? If we pollute our hearts with bad things our hearts will become bad and so will we.

"A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him."
Lets be careful about what we put in our hearts and who we give them to.
Philippians 4:8 (New International Version)
whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold (Psalm 119 verse 72) Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her (proverbs 8 v 10-11).
